Jewish groups ban concealed weapons.

Many Jewish congregations and organizations statewide in Wisconsin will effectively ban concealed weapons on their premises. The Milwaukee Jewish Federation Executive Committee voted Nov 2nd to mandate posting signs banning weapons at agencies housed in MJF-owned properties. This will affect all or most synagogues.

A recent article was written on this MJF decision in the Jewish Wisconsin Chronicle, and sets out their "rationale" behind such restrictive thinking.

Post-9/11, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security ranks the domestic terror threat against synagogues equal to that of railroads and utilities. Despite this, we see another example of "gun-free zones" being generated with seeming scant regard for a common sense approach to legal guns on premises.

It has to be glaringly obvious that banning the legitimate carry of firearms (law-breakers do not obey signs!) simply leaves the door wide open to armed criminal attack. Another potential mechanism for creating victims.

Read the article and then go to the JPFO handbills page, where we offer two new "Latest" posters to illustrate our thinking on this matter.
