Legal gun owners can deter crime

Despite many lower ranks in police departments often being pro CCW, for the most part actual police chiefs either voice no opinion, or more often than not it seems, speak out against an armed citizenry. It is encouraging that many local sheriffs do in many cases profess endorsement of citizens carrying, along with being 2A supporters.
We hear of one particular police chief however who openly supports having armed citizens as a means to help deter crime. Detroit Police Chief James Craig has now changed his mind on this matter and admits that at one time he was denying CCW permits heavily as well as being a broad proponent of 'gun control'. It would appear logic has prevailed.
