The Dick Act and Gun Control

Periodically, we still receive occasional emails on this subject - insisting that the "Dick Act" makes any form of "gun control" illegal. Undoubtedly, such emails will continue from time to time, but it is worth reminding people just what this is all about. To that end, we again show a double article by two of JPFO's esteemed friends, David Kopel and David Hardy.

The Dick Act of 1902 also known as the Efficiency of Militia Bill H.R. 11654, of June 28, 1902 invalidates all so-called gun-control laws."

No, the Dick Act repealed the Militia Act of 1792, and created the National Guard system. It says nothing about gun control. And it was extensively re-written in a couple of post-WWI Army Acts....... -->
