Obama's claim that 40 percent of
gun sales lack background checks

While over two years old, this article could still be seen broadly as being just as valid today. It is but one example of using inaccurate statements to further the 'gun-control' agenda and woo the public antis. We still hear various degrees of misinformation trotted out all the time, some of which frequently includes ignorance of actual firearms facts.

There are two key problems with the president's use of this statistic: The numbers are about two decades old, yet he acts as if they are fresh, and he refers to "purchases" or "sales" when in fact the original report concerned "gun acquisitions" and "transactions."
