From Dave Workman. October 11, 2021

What's New—California: Gov Newsom signed SB264, as a result of recent changes to "assault weapons" statutes residents should check on whether their "other" type firearm needs to be registered:
Pennsylvania: HB1900: banning gun sales to anyone "whose name is included on the terrorist screening database" introduced;
Wisconsin: AB498: restoring under-21 adults right to carry has been introduced;
Politics: Virginia Governor's race looks like it is not a shoo-in for McAuliffe;
Judicial: Aposhian v. Garland: has been postponed for review to Nov. 3; a new Heller v. DC has just been filed.

Biden-Harris Administration

IRS, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives

An interesting article in the Daily Caller Proposed BATFE regulations points out that this proposal "is a potential way for the Biden administration to track who is purchasing firearms." The article goes on to allege that this IRS proposal could become "a back-door gun registry." The question really should be, "Do you want the IRS looking at every $600 or more expense or payment?"

Comments on proposed regulations regarding "Stabilizing Braces":

Although comments have now closed, over 211,000 comments (most of them negative) have been received. Comments on the "Frame or Receiver" proposed regulation have closed.

Politics:

2021 Virginia Governor's Race:

The governor in the Commonwealth of Virginia is legally not able to run for re-election for a second consecutive term. However, the law does not prohibit a former governor from running for the position after the original term has expired. .....

It's again two months since the last 'Grassroots Update' and so it is useful to bring things up to date - remembering of course that when it comes to 2A matters, things can change fast. Be sure to view the entire update.
